What We Do

What We Do

Local

We sell 98% of our product locally here in Michigan. We are excited that selling local has allowed us to be a more sustainable company and decrease the distance that our produce has to travel to our customer’s tables. All our produce is harvested within 24hrs of shipment – meaning that instead of produce being 1-2 weeks old by the time you buy it at the store, it is just 24hrs old.

Partnerships

We have partnered with Amish farmers, who are certified organic, in our community. We are very excited about this partnership as it allows us to expand our organic products we offer to our customers.  Not only is all of it local, the produce is grown with care, and is picked ripe at peak of freshness (typically within 24-48 hours of shipping), care & consideration for the environment is a part of all that we and our partner farmers do – all farming is done by hand and horses.

What does eating with the seasons entail?

At Goodnews Farm we grow many of our items in controlled environments like the greenhouse allowing for a wide variety of fruits and veggies all year long. Nevertheless, we’re still compelled to obey the whims of the weather. Eating food grown according to the location of the sun will hopefully become something you can appreciate as a supporter of local agriculture.

Can I visit the farm?

We’d love to meet you, but please keep in mind our incredibly busy schedule on the farm. Just make sure you contact us in advance if you wish to set up a tour.
